Apple Movement Disorder API

Notice what your body already knows.

Kampa passively monitors tremor through your Apple Watch, correlates every dose, meal, workout, and night of sleep - and surfaces the patterns that matter. No manual logging. No daily check-ins.

kāmpa kuhm-pah Sanskrit · कम्प

The Sanskrit word for "tremor." From Kampavata (कम्पवात) - the Ayurvedic term for what modern medicine calls Parkinson's disease. Physicians of the Charaka Samhita documented the resting tremor, rigidity, and postural instability of this condition centuries before James Parkinson named it in his 1817 Essay on the Shaking Palsy. The name isn't a metaphor. It is the oldest clinical term for the condition this app was built to understand.

What Kampa watches

Built around your Apple Watch.
Correlated against everything.

Most health apps ask you to do the work. Kampa does the watching - continuously, quietly, without interruption.

📈

Continuous tremor monitoring

Apple's Movement Disorder API reads tremor via Apple Watch all day. Ambient observation - no tapping, no check-ins, nothing to remember.

💊

Medication correlation

Tracks what happens to your tremor in the 30-90 minutes after every dose. Wearing-off timing, effectiveness, and duration - surfaced automatically.

🍎

Deep Apple Health integration

Reads six Apple Health domains in real time - sleep stages (REM, Core, Deep), heart rate variability, workouts, medications, and daylight exposure - cross-correlated against continuous tremor data.

Observations engine

No dashboards to interpret. The Observations engine reads the day's data and surfaces what actually matters - in plain language, automatically, every day.

Why Kampa exists

"Parkinson's runs in my family - a condition that makes every day unpredictable and degrades quality of life. I couldn't find a tool that would quietly watch, surface patterns, and help someone understand their own body without adding cognitive burden. So I built one. The goal is more than monitoring: it's giving someone with Parkinson's enough self-knowledge to make real lifestyle changes, see the difficult days coming, and face them better."

What's coming

Already built. More on the way.

The foundation is running. The roadmap builds toward a complete picture of how Parkinson's moves through a life.

In development
Longitudinal insights

Weeks and months of personal baselines - detecting drift before a patient or neurologist would notice. "Your Sinemet effect window has shortened by 12 minutes over the last 30 days."

In development
Predictive nudges

Proactive wrist alerts built from your own patterns - not generic reminders. "Your typical wear-off is at 4 hours. Your last dose was 3h 50m ago."

Roadmap
Glucose - tremor correlation

Continuous glucose monitoring via Dexcom or Abbott Libre, read through Apple Health. No PD app currently measures how glucose spikes affect levodopa absorption and tremor.

Roadmap
Neurologist PDF export

Patient-controlled clinical summary - tremor trends, medication adherence, key correlations - exportable as a PDF to share with your care team at any appointment.

Roadmap
Voice-first logging

"Hey Siri, log Sinemet." App Intents built for tremor-affected hands - no typing required. Designed around how PD patients actually interact with their phones.

Roadmap
Small research cohort

Expanding beyond a single patient to a small TestFlight group - validating whether the patterns Kampa surfaces are consistent across individuals or deeply personal.
